sage's butterflies

sage spent the money she earned from selling some of her toys and books at our yard sale last month to buy a butterfly habitat. here are the caterpillars as they are entering the "j stage" (getting ready to transform!)

and here they all are in the chrysalis'

as of yesterday morning they had all emerged so sage set them free!

 

just ignore the road noise in this video...i promise it's cool.

and one last picture...of emerson's toad. i can't believe it's still alive.

seriously. this is what greeted me as i opened my cupboard to get the syrup out this morning. so.incredibly.freaked.out. and soooooo happy that sage is brave. the frog has been apprehended. and sage will be helping me clean out the cupboard today. HOW ON EARTH DID A FROG GET IN MY CUPBOARD?! note: we just looked it up and this is a gray tree frog. and i'm still really freaked out.

we finalllly got these chairs painted this week.

i bought them a few years ago at a yard sale for a couple bucks each...but then they were left outside for way too long and were in rough shape.

but a nice coat of outdoor stain and they are looking (almost) new!

sydney + jennifer came over to hang out today.

it was nice to have some company...

especially since we're still laying low while emerson heals up.

i snapped a few pictures of the kiddos.

and that last picture is one of the other skirts i made for sage.

another skirt.

yesterday i got a couple of shirts at our neighbors yard sale for 10 cents each...and last night i turned them into skirts for sage. then this morning i decided to take a tank top that i was going to donate to goodwill and make her another one. the one in these pictures is the one from my tank top. so.so.easy.

and sage loves them.

there will not be a shortage of skirts around here.
