ok! here it goes!

these are the rolls i took to the Scripps party.

we all (almost FIFTY of us!) get together at david + kerry's house.

thanks for being such great hosts!

sage played with sara almost the entire time we were at the party.

does it surprise you all that she's playing with animals? :)

Christmas morning at our house!

 

sage was thrilled to see a new copy of dot + the kangaroo (hers was ruined from too much handling!) AND her favorite gift was her little singer sewing machine!

     

the kids each got a red shovel.

emerson quickly grabbed sage's when she turned her back!

    

Christmas afternoon we spent at Bob + Chris' (jim's aunt + uncle)

the kids (and us!) got spoiled some more!

you can see sage playing super mario with casey + emerson getting flipped until ry couldn't flip him anymore.

 

seriously. how cute is he?!

they made a delicious dinner! we just love being at their house + spending time with their family. we're so grateful for their friendship.

i was so happy to have jim's mom here for a week.

sage and i had a good cry when she left.

she helped me so much with the kids + kept me sane while jim was out plowing.

we love you granny + miss you.

tomorrow i'll post about some special quilts that sage + i got for Christmas!

kristin came over last friday night to watch the kids while i went to a work Christmas thing with jim. before i left she had painted sage's toenails + emerson was jealous! so here is kristin painting e's toenails. it cracked me up because after she was done painting 7 blue he was pointing to the pink like crazy + so she painted the last 3 pink! he kept saying pretty the next day when he'd look at his toes!

 

sage loved that kristin played mario party 8 with her!

   

emerson has been loving trotting around in sage's princess shoes lately...

he wants to do everything she does!

and i have a 2 batches of homemade rolls rising for the Scripps Christmas party tomorrow night.

a change of heart. *in no particular order*

     

this is a BIG deal folks. sage is sitting on santa's lap for the first time since she was 5 months old AND she's happy about it! she LOVES santa now! emerson gave santa a huge smile when he saw him + then went about sucking his thumb again.

it was fun because my niece jessica + her boys came with us! alex wanted nothing to do with santa though.

 

i love that sage + alex are such good buddies. they play SO good together.

we're lucky enough to get to hang out with jessica + the boys really often!

i've been so bad at posting this month! and i have so much i do want to share. so i'm going to try and play a little catch up!

wednesday morning i was in charge of sage's preschool Christmas party!

jim was sweet enough to cut out + spray paint 16 Christmas trees for the kids to decorate with buttons, sequins, and glitter! note: the wood we got for free + the spray paint i had bought at a yard sale this summer for a quarter!

we also made these cute rudolph's and snowmen out of marshmallows!

                   

 

on december 1st we got our Christmas decorations out.

the kids loved helping to decorate the tree.

in the picture below emerson is trying to hang up one of his matchbox cars.

 

            

i made our stockings this year. they definetly got better as i went along!

i let sage pick out the fabric + decorations she wanted on hers.

hers is the blue velvet. jims + mine are made from some old corduroy pants!

 

             

the kids have been LOVING dancing to Christmas music.

sage is singing along with lots of songs too...so cute!

 

last week sage + i made homemade caramels!

so so so good.

tuesday sage and i made rolls for supper. sage decide to make an alien!

not bad, eh??

 

my friend kristin came over + joined us for supper + then we scrapooked for awhile. i actually finished a page but forgot to take a picture.

 can you tell my kids LOVE her?

 

a sweet moment of the kids playing quietly and nicely together.

i have a few more pictures of i need to upload so that i can be totally caught up...but this was a pretty good start!

we got 16 inches of snow in the last 24 hours + more is on the way!

12 inches of snow.

 

  

the kids were thoroughly entertained watching the poor mail man try and get his truck moving away from our mailbox! he was there for about 20 minutes + then jim finally had to scoot the truck to the next house for him with this...

while I brag about this gorgeous girl.

she's starting to read!

she trys (and succeeds a LOT) to sound out every word she sees.

she can spell SO many words.

i was impressed when she memorized how to spell emerson...

then one day she was playing with her magna doodle and said, look what i wrote mom! she had written ANATAYA! that is a little girls name in her class. she just sat down and sounded it out!!

i had bought her the leapfrog word factory video + it totally sparked an interest in her! she picked right up on it!

seriously...i am SO proud of her.

oh. and she's also doing SO much better socially at school.

she's playing with other kids + just doing great.

I think I had mentioned before that at one point her teacher said she was a loner. which totally surprised me! anyways! just glad she has lots of cute little friends now.

her teacher already told me she's going to talk to sage's kindergarten teacher (whoever that might be) ahead of time so she can be ready with extra stuff for sage!

Santa Parade

This is the second year that Jim drove (and sage rode along) in the Santa Parade!

Sage loves riding in the passenger seat + waving at everyone!

 

 

Emerson and I hung out in the car + kept warm until we saw them coming!

I only got a couple of pictures because emerson decided to try waiting in snow that was about waist high + when he fell he was mad! haha!

here are a couple of pictures of the little man while we were hanging out keeping warm in the car. (it's been snowing non-stop + it's about 23 degrees out!)

 

she knows she's funny.

today was gingerbread house day in sage's class!

every child had to have a special someone with them.

thanks to my niece nancee for watching emerson so i could go!

they got to decorate a gingerbread boy or girl first...

i seriously cracked up when she told me those were the armpits!!

and then it was on to the gingerbread houses!

just like her daddy she chose to focus on the yard!

she made a pretzel patio and candy yard.

we were the last ones there...

i think she would have stayed all day working on it if she could have.

 

she is so fun to be around...

i know i still need to post more pictures from NC.

hopefully tomorrow.
