now we're off on our 14 hour drive home.

everyone slept well + we're all feeling so much better this morning!

18 hours on the road makes for some very crabby children.

their momma isn't feeling so chipper herself.

i'm really hoping we can all get some sound sleep tonight + awake with a fresh attitude!

sage + sophie

 

from the time i dropped sage off at school to the time i picked her up (about 2 1/2 hours) we got about 3 inches of snow! sage was SO excited. so when emerson took a nap we went out and played for awhile. and even though this is my 4th winter here i still didn't know that you could roll snow into a ball. i thought you had to just pack it + squish it together. i was so excited to get the bottom of our snowman so big! (with out jim's help!!) she has acorns for eyes, a dead flower for a nose, and a stick for a mouth. i seriously thought we were doing SO good until i saw my friend jessica's blog. just click HERE real quick. yeah. haha. oh but our snow girls name is sophie. a cute name means a lot.

   

i wanted to get a picture of her in her cute new hat...and they all cracked me up so even though they're a little blurry i had to share them.

 

and this is the best picture i got of emerson's new haircut.

i love it.

and i'll be honest + say i'm totally stressed out about trying to be sure everything is ready to go out of town tomorrow! i need to take a couple of valerian root and go to bed. i'm sure i'll have a huge post to do next week with all of our adventures!

first + second.

 

yep. sage got her very first hair cut today.

yes. she's 4 and had never even had it trimmed!

but i finally found someone i trust with sage's hair.

 

this is my friend kristin and the kids love her. sage has been talking ALL week about how she was going to get her hair cut + then scrapbook with kristin. it wasn't anything drastic. just a couple of inches + some simple long layers to make it healthier. sage was smiling the whole time. she loved it.

and then emerson got his second hair cut ever. (the first one was by jim + i have no pictures because i wasn't there. and he was much smaller.) emerson wasn't quite as excited as sage was. kristin was a real trooper + i'm sure the only good part for her is that every hair cut she does after today will be easier than cutting emerson hair.

 

i'm just glad sage wanted to go first...or she might have changed her mind.

the kids both look so cute.

it was late though...so i'll get pictures of their new cute haircuts tomorrow.

emerson no longer has a mullet.

1. my friend jen has been posting on her blog this week about her friend whose 2 week old baby girl passed away due to heart + lung problems...from what i understand. you can read more on their family's blog HERE. jen is very sweet + is trying very hard to raise money to help with funeral costs for her friend's family that will be more than their family can financially bear. 

so i've decided to try + help out a little! i'm going to do another auction like before. this time for an 11x14 print of this...

 

i thought ladybugs would be nice since they are supposed to be lucky + all.

i had a discovery toys party here last night + i'd been dying to try these out since i watched ina make them on the food network! (when i was in KC with sydney + charlie!) they were a HUGE hit!! and it was so fun to have a few friends over. jim ended up doing most of the work since i was running late! thanks babe!

5. i love my niece jessica + her boys.

and so does sage! i just love having them here...and i'm so glad they come over pretty often! i love to watch sage + alex play together as they are getting older! i love this picture of them watching a movie together. such cute cousins!

this morning sage + and i made "art" for a couple of hours.

she finally got sick of the paint brushes and sweetly asked if she could just use her hands instead. i loved watching her. and it felt so good to make an art journal page myself. i'll try and remember to share it soon...

 

 

and i just realized i've never shared a picture of my art closet.

last night jim + sage + nancee(niece) + heather(niece) + i went to seussical in grant! my sister in laws jill + jennie both played clarinets in the orchestra. sage loved it and was bummed when it ended. click HERE to see the lyrics to my favorite song from the play.

today i'm wishing my mom lived nearby and could come + watch the kids so i could take a long nap. i woke up still feeling terrible. i'm really hoping whatever i've caught goes away soon. and my poor little house is looking like a tornado went through it.

the last week and a half is a blur...i've just been crazy busy.

and now i'm trying to get caught up. and it's taking longer than usual.

i did get sydney + charlie's pictures finished up last night! i'll be posting those tonight hopefully.

i am so exhausted. and today woke up not feeling very good. 

i'm going to work tonight + coming home + watching grey's + going to bed.

hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

we're going to NC for thanksgiving to be with jim's mom.

i can't wait for the break.
