i have lots of things i want to share here...but i think i'm going to wait until next week. we have so much going on in our little lives + i need to focus on taking care of us as we adjust to some changes! jim is starting a new job today!! the schedule is a rough one...but hopefully the transition won't be too hard. i have lots of pictures i want to share so i'm sure my next post will be a picture overload!!  

new great nephew + chocolate cake.

this is my sweet great nephew jeremy.

my niece sarah mae had him on wednesday + i got to go and hold him yesterday.

kissing newborn babies foreheads is the sweetest thing ever.

i asked sarah before she left the hospital what treat she'd like me to bring.

and she said a chocolate cake. so i ran to the store + bought some cocoa + buttermilk +heavy whipping cream + got to work! i had never made a cake from scratch...or frosting. but it was so good. so so good.

i made pumpkin chocolate chip bars.

and chocolate chip cookies.

i was in the mood to bake. 

i got this AMAZING package of scrapbook goodies!

my kids got along good.

all. day. long.

i kept this sweet girl home from school today.

last night she had a headache.

she seemed fine today except she does have a sore throat now.

hoping she's ok tomorrow.

she hasn't even finished up her antibiotics from her uti.

and this sweet boy didn't whine today!

he was his sweet self.

and he cracked me up while i was baking. he kept telling me he was going to eat the cookies + pumpkin bars all gone when they were done. and that he was going to eat too much. i love his voice SO much. sweetest thing ever.

i made tacos for supper.

yes that is ketchup.

and sage picked out the cute sleeping gnome from an estate sale.

she picked the sleeping one because she has trouble sleeping.

i finished making curtains for her room today + they make it really dark(so you can't see the shadows from the trees) + we got her a fan for her room for white noise.

crossing my fingers that helps.

and tonight kristin and kaitlyn came over and we sewed!

and they brought me peppermint tea.

i looooooove peppermint tea.

i made sage a little bag + made a couple of cute zipper pouches!

yes. that says do not disturb the cheetah. (can you tell emerson decided it needed some extra decoration on it??) this girl just cracks me up. today i was getting really frustrated getting E in the car to take sage to school. and i said, "grrr! i'm gonna lose my head!" and she very quickly responded with, "don't worry mom, i'll catch it for you!" i love my funny quirky little girl so much. she's the coolest.

this is how emerson face was about half the day. the boy has been extra crabby the past few days. i finally peeked in his mouth tonight + he's cutting molars. no wonder.

his whole day wasn't terrible though.

he managed to have a few minutes of fun!

i am the room mom for sage's class + so i was in charge of their harvest party yesterday. i learned how to use the scroll saw enough to make 21 wood pumpkins! i loved watching the kids decorate them. so funny.

we went to my friend debi's house first tonight!

the kids were so excited. they didn't want to leave!

after that we went to supper with jim's aunt mary kay + cousin joy.

the kids were a little wild but it was fun!

then we went to joy's + went trick or treating there.

i think jim got a recording of him saying trick or treat.

it's the cutest thing EVER.

everyone was going crazy over him tonight.

she's craftier than i am.

life is hard sometimes.

she has some really great stuff on her blog.

i have to say i'm usually pretty good at keeping my chin up.

but sometimes it's just hard.

and today i cried a lot.

it's been 10 months now that jim has been laid off.

and the job search gets exhausting.

and the bills are piling up.

and YES! there are a billion good things in my life still.

but the reasons we moved here have nothing to do with the reasons we are staying here. and that feels strange. we really want to stay in michigan. we love it here. i have the best friends. and an awesome job. and we love the seasons so much. and the kids love being outside. and so do we. so we just really hope we can make things work here. i'm going back to school starting in january. and although i know it's going to be so hard i can't wait!!

i just have to keep reminding myself that i am strong enough.

because somedays it doesn't feel that way.
